I have built a new house on a property that had a house on it before mine. The former house was built a really long time ago and they took it down cause it was really old and no one lived in it. But, I feel sometimes there is something going on at the property or inside the house. Someone is playing with the lights in the house. I know I turn them off and then next day when I walk inside the room or garage, lights are on. Sometimes I hear a radio playing or it sounds like a family is sitting in the living room and chatting with each other. I just want to see who lives here besides me. I live alone in the house. But I’ve had a couple of my friends pass away in a period of 10 years. Maybe one of them is trying to hang around me. Or may be there is something they want to tell me? Is there any curse on me from somewhere from any point of my past that could be haunting me?

Your house was built on grounds that a previous structure was on, so it is possible that it is an earthbound spirit on the property.
 
Everything that you have described, an earthbound spirit can do, however I can not tell from a letter or email who it is.
 
As far as your dead friends, have you ever had a dream of them? If so, it is not them, and that is how you can talk to your dead friends in a dream. Earthbound spirits can not get into a dream.
 
I also can not tell from a letter or email if you have a curse on you, but the three ways negative energy (curse) affects people would be, and in no particular order, health, finances, and relationships. You would know this better than me.
 
Having your home blessed by an ordained priest or minister, (one word of caution, do not get holy water and sprinkle it about yourself, this will not help.) Lots of people have asked me your questions. I see earthbound spirits all of the time, and I see them the same way that they looked when they were alive. You are right; our bodies are a shell for our soul.
 
The ghosts that I see are not bloody, missing parts and pieces, they are fine. The body is what is diseased or injured from an accident. The spirit is whole.
 
Earthbound spirits stay in the same species. Humans stay human spirits, dogs stay dog spirits, cats stay cat spirits, etc.
 
There is all kinds of information in my book, “When Ghosts Speak” that should be able to answer all your questions in the future.

Orbs are great in photos. You actually want orbs to show up.
 
If the orb has a design in the middle that is definitely a spirit that has crossed over, this spirit is back for a visit. This could be an angel, spirit guide, guardian angel, grandma, grandpa, or anyone from the light. The orb can be colored, or sparkly, but it has to have the design in the middle.
 
If the orb is blank, it is just a dust particle or a water spot or snow flake. The one with the orbs in the orb is just a spot on your picture, not a spirit.

My name is Anne-Marie and I live in Sydney, Australia. My partner and I moved to this property two years ago, when I was expecting my first baby. Tiana is now 22 months old.
 
This place we are renting is on a slope up a hilly driveway, so we have to reverse back down to our own garage, which is a bit awkward. Since we moved into this place, we have had financial problems: my partner was diagnosed with hochekeon cancer disease, my daughter cries in the middle of the night at two or three in the morning, and most mornings I feel lethargic or lazy.
 
A month ago I had a friend stay for a couple days with me. Somehow since she has left, I feel there has been a black magic spell on us because my daughter seems to put on a lot of tantrums.
 
My partner and I have quit our jobs and are in the process of moving to Brisbane (I gave two weeks notice of my resignation). However, my team leader wants to play games with me and has moved my final notice up. I need your help to try and speed this up for me, because we have to vacate this place less than a month later. I am now in dilemma.

I do not feel that you are having a problem with earthbound spirits.
 
This is more negative energy ie; curse, spell, voodoo, or black magic. This is on the property, so your friend did not do this. It has been going on since you moved in.
 
There is a lot of knowledge on how to do this in Australia. There are all kinds of different groups. My suggestion is to find a Native Australian to remove it from the property.
 
The three things that negative energy can effect and it could be one-two-or all three, in no particular order, are health, money and relationships. If you are moving, it will stay on the property. Is there some truth to a sprit leaving pennies around as a sign? My father passed away 2 years ago. He was a heart transplant recipient of 16 years. I was always very close to him, except for the last two years of his life. I was warned that I may have to carry this burden of guilt if I did not mend things between us.  I often wonder why he did not come to me in a dream or something…
 
I do find pennies in the strangest places; or in the most obvious places… my mom says they are “pennies from heaven” from my Dad.

I am so glad you asked this question. Yes!! Leaving coins is absolutely a way for crossed over spirits to get your attention. It used to be just pennies, but it can be any coin. (Inflation has gotten to us all.) But there is a trick, not every coin is for you.
If you find a coin heads up it is yours. Look at the date. Is it the year some one died, or the birth year of some one that has died? They try to give you hints so you know who it is. If you find a coin tails up, turn it heads up and leave it for the next person who comes along. It is not yours, it is theirs.
 
I believe that your mom is right; it is just your dad saying everything is all right. Remember guilt can go both ways. Hope you find lots of coins.

Dear Mary Ann,
 
I have believed [in ghosts] for a long time. I have talk to my kids about things that have gone bump in the night or lights that have switched on or off, and cupboards that open and close in our house over the years (but nothing scary). My 13 year-old son has read your book, he does not normally read.   My 18 year-old friends has friends who were burnt out of their homes on the “Black Saturday Fires of February 2009” here in Australia. They both said their rental properties are “Haunted”. One of his friends said he came home early one day when no one was home. He decided to play his X-Box and with in an hour he heard a loud “scream” and then heard a basketball bouncing in his sister’s room. He called out too see if any one was at home (double-checking). He was pretty shocked.
 
The family in the other rental property, they are seeing dark shadows up and down the hallway, and Cina stayed awake one night and saw the shoes move around all night. Also, when they lock the bathroom door, it seems to suddenly open, with no explanation?  All family members said that they feel that some one is watching them.
 
At our house my kids & I have photographed a light (on a wall) that changed shape every day for about a month last year and many large ORBS around our house and sometimes inside.  My 13 year-old son took some photos and in the flash it looks like an old Santa, and giant hand , on top was another face.
 
 I have taken a photo of my dog “missy” as she is looking directly at an orb.   Finally, about 9 years ago my brother-in-law, whom I was very close too, died of a horrible cancer. At about one year (to the day) at midnight, a musical button on the fridge that never worked suddenly played right when I turned the lights off. He was a bit of a joker. I cried when I felt his presence. Finally, is it true that the dear departed do come to you in your dreams?  I sometimes remember the person, but I cannot remember what is said. Or I remember flying in the night over hills in moonlight in a warm breeze. Is this true?

Black Saturday in 2009 was very negative. There were huge amounts of energy created with all of the fires and all of the deaths of almost 180 people.
 
Such unexpected deaths that were so violent leaves a lot of residue, and many of those people who died may not have crossed over. Seeing shadows, hearing screams, doors opening and closing could very well be from earthbound spirits.
 
The good thing is the orb. An orb is a picture of a spirit that has crossed over. You really want orbs in pictures
 
Cancer patients hardly ever stay; they cross over after the last memorial service. Yes, they do come in dreams and eventually you will be able to talk to them, and it is an extra bonus when you get to go flying with them!

I was able to hear you do an interview on “Coast to Coast AM”.  I am hoping you can give me some advice. I believe, do to multiple experiences, which I have been through, that I have some sensitive and empathic abilities. I can sense spirits and have known when people are ready to cross over.  My empath abilities need to be managed.  These things I believe affect my health.  I would like to develop these gifts, but I am afraid of opening the door to the paranormal.  How can I do this safely?  How can I maintain physical health while dealing with these gifts?   I believe we are given these gifts from God for a reason and that they should be developed and used for good. The definition of an empath from The Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary is one who psychically tunes into the emotional state of a person, group, animal, nature, or a nation; unconsciously or deliberately. For example, you may wake up in the middle of the night sensing disaster, feeling fear, anxiety and cold; then read the next morning that there was a hurricane in a cold climate and many people were hurt. Another example is a person who felt uneasy for three days before the president was shot and when it happened, the feeling left. 

After reading the definition, I think you really have to figure out if you are an empath, or an emotional psi or empathy clairsentirence. I am afraid that I would have no way of knowing this from an email.

I do know that anyone of them can affect your health if you do not protect yourself. Doing any of the above is a huge energy drain that could leave you vulnerable for health problems or psychic attack. You really need to find a mentor in your area that can guide you in discover and enhance your abilities.

My name is Asha, and I’m from Houston, Texas. I just read your book “When Ghosts Speak” and I was hoping you could help me. My boyfriend committed suicide right in front of me. That is when my friend offered me your book. Nothing odd has happened to make me believe he is earthbound. But, you say in your book that it is harder for the people that do commit suicide to cross over. I’m constantly talking to him, writing him messages on our dry erase board—-just looking for signs of him. I know you say if they do cross over, they will come to you in your dreams. Every night I hope to hear from him. I miss him so desperately and I have a feeling he has crossed over. I even tell him to and how to do it—-go to a funeral home where a service is in progress.

I know you’re a very busy woman, but if there’s any chance that you could call me and see if his earthbound presence is around me I would greatly appreciate it.

I am so sad for you about your boyfriend’s suicide. Anytime is bad, but around the holidays makes it even worse.  

If he has crossed over, you are right, he will come to you in a dream, but it could take as long as two years before you get your dream.

He has a little more to learn because of the way that he died, so it will not be soon. Just remember he had to have some sort of mental illness to have done this, and until he gets that in order, that will affect how long until he comes in a dream.

If he has not crossed over, you are telling him exactly what he has to do to find the light. I am glad your friend gave you “When Ghosts Speak.” At least you had some direction to follow and some of your questions were answered.

My wife and I are big fans of the show. I’d like to ask you about the neighborhood in which I grew up. It’s Spring Valley in Washington, DC. There might be a potential storyline for the show.

During World War I, it was the birthplace of the US Chemical Warfare Service.
The US Army developed and tested chemical warfare agents, munitions and explosives on the campus and the surrounding farmland that is now Spring Valley.
They conducted some terrible human and animal testing. What impact does this have on the community today? Residents have reported unusual diseases, including blood disorders, cancers, and neurological conditions.

I am not familiar with Spring Valley in Washington DC, but I have been to Los Alamos New Mexico, where the initial development and testing was done for nuclear weapons in the 1940s . I cleared some houses there that had earthbound spirits and negative energy.
 

Everything that you mentioned in your email about Spring Valley is also happening in New Mexico. The places that I have cleared are now fine, but the energy over the whole area is overwhelmingly negative. It would take an army of people that can do what I do to remove all of it.

Hello Mary Ann,

I heard you on the radio this morning at a time that I really needed to!  My dad passed away in June 2008.  We were very close and I spent a lot of time helping him out until the end.  I lived in near him so I could check on him daily. If I didn’t go to his house we would talk on the phone every night. After he died, I sold my home and moved to an apartment in Streetsboro.  A month ago my boyfriend and I bought a condo.  

Ever since we moved in strange things have been happening and I’m trying to figure out if it’s my dad.  Every night the buttons on the washing machine start beeping with no one touching the washer.  My boyfriend (who doesn’t believe in “ghosts”) has seen things moving “out of the corner” of his eyes. We feel cold spots in places.  My sister came to visit from Florida last week to visit my dad’s grave for the first time. She was here for the wake but was unable to stay for the burial since my dad was cremated. She came over the other night and we were talking about my dad because things are happening strange at my other sister’s house also.  We were talking and she was calling out “dad that’s enough you’re scaring me.” She said this about 3 times and we were all laughing and all of a sudden she screamed because she felt a vibration on her lower back like he grabbed her!!

My sister would come up every year for my dad’s birthday (Oct. 23) and that’s why she came up last week. It was like he was excited she was coming. When my sister was in town she stayed at my other sister’s house in Elyria.  The radio started playing at 4 am, which scared both of them but they felt it was my dad signaling that he is okay. It’s weird but ever since my sister went back to Florida, our washing machine has not made the sound!!  

Can you tell if it’s my dad visiting? I hope he hasn’t had a problem crossing over. Can you tell this?

I do not think that this is your father for several reasons.
 

If he had been sick for a while, he was tired and glad that it is over, plus there are usually people that they want to see that have died before them: parents, siblings, grandparents, and good friends.
 

The other issue is: why would he be mean and try to scare you? These are earthbound spirits that are messing with you and your family. Look how much energy they are getting by scaring you so much.
 

A condo or an apartment complex is a smorgasbord for earthbound spirits. You have a lot of families under one roof. They are free to come and go through as many units that they like. Another thought, this could be an earthbound spirit that has attached to your sister and is just coming up with her from Florida.
 

You can also prove to yourself and your siblings that your father has crossed over. If you or anyone close to him has had a dream of him your father for sure has crossed over. Earthbound spirits are not in our dreams.

My name is Kimberly and I have a question about the gift.  To ask it, I need to tell you a little about myself. A friend of mine told me about James and things he can do. She told me to watch Ghost Whisperer. She said it would help me understand more about stuff in my life. She told me also it may help me feel not alone. She never really could understand what I been through. So I started watching the show and hoping for answers. I can relate to Melinda a lot. Like her, I am married. I have two learning disabilities, which make me different.  
 
When I was young (about eight or nine) things happened to me. It started out with shadows that appearing at the corner of my eye and then vanishing when I turned to look, hearing noises, sensing people who have passed on or feeling things, and even smelling things. At first, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me. As I went through my teen years it happened more. I started seeing, hearing, sensing, and even having visions or dreams that became real.  Now that I am 30, things happen, but not as much. I still sense spirits and once in awhile see them. It feels like sometimes I lost the gift.  So my question is:  Does the gift ever leave a person as they get older?  I just fear it does and that scares me. I think that you are referring to James Van Praagh. He is a psychic medium that is a consultant on Ghost Whisperer.
 

Everything that you have explained could have happened. Children often refer to earthbound spirits as shadow people. Senses are heightened and some people can get certain odors; any of this can be from earthbound spirits or spirits that have crossed over. The spirits in your dreams however are only spirits that have crossed over. It is very difficult for an earthbound spirit to get into a dream.

 
There are times in our life when the gift is not as strong as other times. This is normal. Also, if there is a lot of stress or turmoil in your life, the gift is not always working. Another thing to consider is that there are some medications that could block your abilities.

Dear Mary Ann,

My name is Amy and I am 35 years old.  I live in Fort Worth, Texas and my daughter and I watch the show all the time, tivo it on 2 channels…LOVE IT.  So it has me thinking.  I never really have believed in ghosts but rather demons….until now.  Upon moving back to Texas in 2005, I moved into an apartment after my divorce with my then 13 month old and my 2 year old.  I would always see shadows out of the corner of my eye.  I thought I was seeing things and wrote it off as that.  Then I moved into a bigger apartment upstairs and worse things started happening.  Not often, but enough to raise the hair on your whole body.  My boyfriend at the time (husband now) had the same feelings too when he was over.  He lived across the hall and never had any of these experiences at his place.

On one occasion, I put the girls on the couch to watch a movie (they are 4 and 5 at this time) and I went to take a bath.  I closed the shower curtain and was reading a magazine and the lights started turning on and off.  I opened the curtain and it was my oldest.  I told her to let mommy finish her bath and I would be out.  She shut the door and left.  A couple minutes later the same thing happened, the lights went on and off. I opened the curtain thinking it was Alex again and it wasn’t.  I sat there and watched the lights go on and off.  Then they stayed on.  I left the shower curtain open and all of a sudden I felt like someone was watching me.  The hair on my arms and neck stood up and I felt unsafe.  I jumped out of the bath.  I grabbed a towel and ran out to the living room where the girls were.  I asked them if everything was ok.  None of the clocks were blinking so I know the power didn’t go out in the whole apartment.  Alex told me “someone turned the TV off twice.” I said who turned them off she said she didn’t know, she didn’t see anyone.  

This is what makes me think it is a demon.  One night we went across the hall to my boyfriend’s because his sisters and brother were in town.  He went back to my apartment to get their flight information off the computer.  When he came back, he was pale and looked like he wanted to throw up.  I asked him what was wrong.  He wouldn’t tell me. Finally the next day he told me what happened.

When he walked into my apartment, a figure that looked like a light smoky cloud came from the right side of the apartment and went by him.  As it went by him it slowed in front of him, he said he could make out a “wicked” or “evil” face in it.  Then it sped up and went straight into the kitchen and up into the ceiling and was gone.  He ran all over the apartment to check to make sure no one was there and of course nothing.  

We have since gotten married and moved into a house.  I haven’t felt any presences or had any experiences.  I often wonder if the people that now live in that apartment are experiencing what we did. I would LOVE to hear your input.

All the things that you have described in your email are what earthbound spirits could and can do. Let me clear up something. These spirits are regular people that have died and for whatever reason have not crossed over. They have the same personality they had when they were alive. If they were a nice sweet old lady when they were alive they are now a sweet ghost. A pervert when alive is a pervert ghost. A jokester when alive is a jokester when dead. Not demons!

I have been doing this for over sixty years now and I have only run across four or five spirits that were not from the light. All earthbound spirits can appear as shadow people, fog, wisps, clouds, or swirls. They can make scary faces to frighten you. The more that then can scare you the more energy that you put out, the more energy that they get. An earthbound spirit does not sleep or eat, but needs human energy to keep going.
Earthbound spirits can come and go as they please. It is television and the movies that claim that a ghost had to die in the house, or own the house. Earthbound spirits can move with you from house to house or stay put if they choose.

I’ve been watching shows such as Psychic Kids Children of the Paranormal
with Chip Coffey and other shows about psychics/mediums who can tell if
there are ghosts in houses or on land. However, now that you’ve cleared my
home and I’ve read your books, I have to wonder if those shows really help
solve the problems. On one episode of Psychic Kids, a mother whose child has
abilities and lots of ghosts in the house said “I’m a very tired mother, I’m
tired on all levels.” I have sympathy and empathy for that lady.  Do you
ever watch those shows and ask “Why don’t they help the ghosts move on?”
What are your thoughts about those shows? Do you think that more psychics
need to learn to send ghosts into the light?

It was really nice meeting you and clearing your home of earthbound spirits.
Isn’t it amazing how the house felt when you had spirits in it and then after they were removed? It is like day and night; it is that big of a difference.
I do not watch any of the paranormal or psychic shows on television for several reasons.

“Ghost Whisperer” is based on the kind of ghosts I see, but when the show started five years ago it was very hard for me to watch. I had to come to the realization that this is not a ghost documentary each Friday night, but entertainment! Each week you do learn a good lesson from Ghost Whisperer even if it is “Hollywoodized” as I call it. Each week Melinda does help the spirits to cross over.

The other shows on the subject, which you are one hundred percent correct, do not do that. Personally, I think they do more harm than good on two levels.

The family, whose house that they are in, is not having the problem solved; the ghost is still going to be there. In addition the ghost is thinking that they are going to help me cross over… and guess what, no they can not help.

The ghost could really be mean now to the family after the paranormal group leave and take all of their equipment with them. This is because they are still stuck! … Or they could follow someone home from the paranormal group.
It is a no-win situation either way.

Unless you can see, talk to and make the white light to release the earthbound spirit, I believe that these groups are walking on very thin ice for the homeowners and themselves.

So Lisa, these are my thoughts on this situation. I have cleaned up too many houses after the “ghost busters” have been there. Thank you for asking.

My name is William and I live in Aztec, NM. In the late 80s my older sister Carol killed her self. I have never really gotten over her death. We were so close. I just knew if there was a way to contact me that she would. I have been watching and praying for any clue or sign for years, but so far nothing. I miss her so. I don’t know just what or how you could help. But the pain in my heart is as strong now as it was 20 years ago. I still am not able to talk about her without almost bursting into tears. I am so sorry about your sister Carol. The death of a sibling is hard when they are not very old and especially if it’s suicide. You must remember, people that die this way are not mentally well or they would not have done it.

If your sister passed younger than thirty years old, she probably did not cross over for many reasons, which can be unfinished business, guilt, or fear of retribution. However, in the past twenty years if a relative or close friend of hers has died, she could have crossed over with them.

You will know if she crossed over when you have a dream of her. If you have not had a dream of her but someone that you know has, that means that she has crossed over. If she has crossed over, she may feel that it would upset you if she came to you in a dream. When you finally dream of Carol you will be able to talk to her as if she was alive. Everyone can do this.

If you do not remember your dreams get an herb called mugwort. Make a small pouch of it and place it between your pillow and pillowcase, and in about three weeks you will start remembering your dreams.

My first question is:  Can you see ghosts like Melinda can? Meaning do they look just as solid as normal humans like they are described in the show? Also, is there any way to gain this gift if we don’t already have it? I would love to hear back from you! Thank you for being a Ghost Whisperer Fan. It is so much fun coming up with a new episode each week.

Melinda can actually see spirits the way that I do. “Ghost Whisperer” is based on the kind of earthbound spirits that I see and deal with. Yes, they look just as they looked when they were alive. I see hair and eye color, but they are not solid like when they were alive. They look transparent or see through.

I have been able to see earthbound spirits since I was a baby. This is because of my grandmother mentored me and the gift has continued to grow.

I do not know how to tell or teach a person how to see ghosts, either you can or you can not. My book, “When Ghosts Speak,” can teach you how to tell if you are around an earthbound spirit, but not how to see one.

Ancient Egypt, no, but I did meet Judith Shakespeare Quiney who was a child of William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway. She was a twin, her brother Hamnet died when he was eleven years old.

She lived to be seventy-seven years old. She died in 1662. I did not even know that Shakespeare had twins. Most days I learn something new, which is good.

Hi Brian,

An earthbound spirit certainly could scare you that badly. You put out a lot of energy when you are scared and that is what an earthbound spirit needs to keep going.

I think that it is unusual for an adult to have night terrors that is usually a diagnosis for children. Doctors have a hard time getting their head around the idea of ghosts. They are so educated and scientific; it is hard for them to accept what they can not see or feel, so they do the best that they can. I guess in your doctor’s mind night terrors work a whole lot better than ghosts.

Please try one or both of these ideas.

Have the house blessed by an ordained priest or minister. This will always help. One word, DO NOT get holy water and sprinkle it about you; this will not help.

Smudge. Smudging is what Native Americans do to clear their person and living areas to remove negative energy and earth bound spirits. You should be able to find a smudge stick at any good metaphysical store. Instructions on its use will be included in the package, or you can ask where you purchase it. Keep in mind to be the most effective smudging should be done on a regular basis ( usually every two to three weeks.)

Doing one or both of these things will not remove earthbound spirits, but it will make them very lethargic and laid back.

You will see a difference.

Hello-

I just have a question regarding three weird things that happened to me when I lived in an apartment in Apple Valley, MN. Could you please explain what these meant? I’ll give them to you in a quick order-

ONE: The first thing that freaked me out was one night we had a miniature party (no, I had NOT been drinking or taken anything that would alter my thought process what so ever). Everyone we had over was sitting in the living room and I was bored so I went into my room and lied down on my bed. I was fully awake but decided to close my eyes for a couple seconds. When I opened them again, I saw an older man standing in the corner of my room wearing what looked like a grey suit and he was almost transparent. I was so freaked out that I jumped off of my bed and took most of the blankets with me and ran into the living room. I had my brothers go look in my room, and there was obviously no one there. The man didn’t seem threatening to me, it just freaked me out that suddenly there’s a man standing there for no reason. He was older, possibly 60’s or 70’s, and I couldn’t make out very good facial features.

TWO: A couple weeks after that first incident, I was lying on my couch watching TV with a friend. My friend left and turned everything off but the TV, which is what I woke up to. I sat up and started watching TV for a little bit and then decided I was too lazy to go in my room so I rolled over to face the back of the couch to sleep. I decided I wasn’t comfortable in that position so rolled back over to face the TV and there was ANOTHER man standing right next to the couch just staring at me. He was wearing a jean jacket with some kind of flannel shirt, he looked about 30’s or 40’s, he had a short beard and very innocent looking brown eyes - he also just stared at me as if he was just watching to see what I would do, and I literally blinked and he was gone. Once again, I didn’t feel threatened, just weirded out.

And FINALLY- A couple weeks after THAT, I woke up at midnight and my brother texted me to come watch a movie with him. I was watching TV with him and at exactly 4 am, I decided to go back to my room NOTE: (I had the master bedroom, so I had a bathroom with a shower inside my room.) I got into bed and I heard someone mumbling outside my door. I thought it was my brother but he didn’t respond when I was asking what he wanted. I lay there for a couple more seconds and realized it was a female talking (I didn’t live with any girls). I know I was awake because I was looking around responding to the voice. Then I realized it wasn’t coming from outside my bedroom door, it was coming from my bathroom! The words became clearer and it said the name “Tracy”, and it also said the word “Religion” and some sort of E-X word that I cannot recall (such as excellent, or excel, except, so on…) By the time I got back out to the living room where my brother was, the microwave said 4:08am- so I wasn’t in there even ten minutes when all of this happened.

Sorry this is so long, but could you tell me what this is? Or why I had seen these things? I’d really appreciate any kind of feedback, all of my friends and my brothers think I am crazy.

Good news, you are not crazy!!!!

Everything that you have described can really happen when you have earthbound spirits in your space.

You mentioned that this was an apartment. When you have a lot of families living under a common roof it is always full of earthbound spirits. They need human energy to keep going, they do not eat or sleep. So if they can scare, startle, or confuse you, they like that. In an apartment they can go in and out of all of the units, and cause problems and get energy.

Your apartment in Apple Valley was just a very active building with earthbound spirits. You seem to have more abilities than others to see and hear them, but it certainly does not mean that you are crazy.

I would have been locked up a long time age if seeing and hearing ghosts was criteria for crazy!!
